Who am I?
From a young age, I always had an interest in art and the blood, sweat, and tears that are put into making such grand works. For some, their start would come from books, movies, TV, or museum visits. For me, I come from an age of mouse clicking and MP3 downloads, and many of my influences come from this “golden age” of online art and online media. Much of my work can be a reflection of the developing mind of a young artist who doesn’t believe to has reached his goal of becoming a professional. For many, they would be accepting of their work at this time, being confident and presenting themselves as great achievers. However, I don’t stop with my progress, I always see my successes as an equal learning opportunity, always going above my previous skill to achieve greater quality works and creations.
My work must land in a specific tier of quality and perfectionism, and in my head, I believe I still have much to learn and improve in order to truly value the title of master. Much of my work comes from a satirical or abstract influence, as a child reading the satirical “MAD Magazine” was an influence on how to create artworks that can be enjoyable but also be a form of commentary on society, politics, and influential figures. With the dawn of the early modern internet, spaces such as Newgrounds and YouTube were the birthplace of many artists, such as Chris O’Niell and Zach Hadel. Artists who have worked for years to make their name more mainstream. Other comedy artists now have a taste of industry influence and experience.
Creating works that make a person think, and usually to make someone think, they might have to feel uncomfortable or rethink how they feel on more serious or meaningful topics, and to question the reality we all reside in. My work is a development, and is a gateway to meeting this goal of an industry professional. My hopes and dreams of working in entertainment is the goal that I'm working to achieve, but of course, we don’t live in a time that truly values artists. With the influence and impact of a forever-changing industry and new technology, many have found themselves in a hole of opportunity and feeling like they are stuck behind a cold and dramatic wall. However, to overcome this generational blockade, I must find an opening in that wall to reach the other side, and to truly become the successful artist that I wish to become, and to bring my skills to a world willing to open to new talent and opportunity.
